Has anybody here solved the following conundrum?

• wanting a bluetooth/gps tracker to be able to recover a stolen bicycle (or other use case)
• not trusting Google, Apple and other companies to not use/sell/lose data
• using a deGoogled phone and Linux computer (in my case, LineageOS and Fedora)

That is, I would want to be able to recover my bicycle if stolen, while keeping my daily movements as private as possible. Enshittified web search has not helped much..

At my library's repair cafe as a volunteer. It's the first time they're running it and they're hoping to do this regularly. I came in thinking I would help with computer troubleshooting... but they have enough people doing that. So I figured I could help with Linux OS install... but the local Linux Install Party is here and has enough people. Then a guy brought in a bicycle! And no one is here doing bike repair. But I brought my allen wrench set and a multitool. So I just got done running and installing a new bicycle brake line on an older bike. Brake works just fine now! Question for #3dPrinter , #Accessibility , and #Bicycle folks out there... I am trying to figure out an adaptation for my exercise bike to allow me to ride it while I have a hand injury that makes it impossible to put pressure on the top of my palm to ride. I have a Bowflex C6 that I can't adjust the handles on. I am looking for the right words to find an attachment for the handlebars, or an example of a print for something that would let me use my wrist/bottom of palm for any type of bike I could use as a starting point to print something. My searches have netted some palm rests for street bikes I might be able to modify, but I am curious for other ideas too.

My idea this morning is to take this out of the obvious #Bicycle options and look at #motorbike instead. And I find many #3dprint options for a throttle assist. I am printing one out now to try and maybe modify. It seems like basic point to start from for a support for what I need.
