Manifesting Optimism When enough people collectively decide to turn away from the despair that welcomes defeat, instead embracing the fires of rage that burn away the sabotage that caused destruction and push back the chaos that prevented repairs, they strike a spark to rebuild hope one voice one seat one vote one wave at a time. #WritingCommunity #Poetryhttps://ko-fi.com/post/Manifesting-Optimism-G6I22A21SA When the election results are so good, you have to reschedule your poem and whip up a new one to suit the moment. 😅 A little support goes a long way. The banning of books in Texas and 10 commandments in schools will likely soon end. Not only has Gov. Greg Abbot lost and soon-to-be Senator-elect Talarico won, but… The Texas Tribune is reporting that Democrats have solid leads in all the statewide elected executive races: Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, Ag Commissioner, General Land Commissioner, Railroad Commissioner, and 7 of 9 State Board of Education seats. The governor appoints our Secretary of State, so that will change, too. Texas is finally turning blue. #boostingIsSharing#Bookstodon #writersOfMastodon #writingCommunity #author #writer #uspol #bluewave #bluetsunami #democrats #elections #election

1. Wings by Little Mix randomly started playing on my iHeartRadio a few minutes ago. I loved that song but haven't heard it in years.
2. I had a huge idea and a new plot come to me last night after a #WordWeavers prompt. It'll literally be the main plot for the second story in my #FatedByFire Series. Thank you!
3. I'm also wearing soft, cozy clothes today to deal with the New England weather. Brrrrr.

G’day, I’m Dave! 👋 After a bit of a break from the Fediverse, I’m back with a new self-hosted home, so I figured it was time to say hello and introduce myself again. I live in Calgary, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Canadian Rockies, with my wife, our three daughters, and one very energetic puppy. I enjoy getting lost in a good audiobook, putting my thoughts down in a blog post or journal, and getting out with a camera to take photos. I’m also a big football fanatic, supporting my favourite teams in Australia, Canada, England, and Scotland. When I’m not doing any of that, I’m probably watching a good movie or indulging in some gloriously trashy reality TV. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting some new folks, and seeing what everyone’s been up to. #Introduction #Photography #WritingCommunity #YYC

A little bit of an #introduction: I write personal essays at the intersection of film, philosophy, and everyday life. I’m creating a site of interconnected notes: a living space where drafts, rabbit holes, and ideas can bounce off each other and evolve in public. 🔗 https://enjambments.com #WritingCommunity #DigitalGarden #Essays #Film #Philosophy #PKM

A bandcamp for authors? Here are some thoughts. https://paulkater.com/theblog/bookcamp-the-bandcamp-for-authors.html #writing #writingcommunity #author

My first book, The Dream Pyjamas, was a huge hit at 44 Grieve Avenue, though sadly overlooked by every major award. My second, 36 years later, has had slightly better luck...Drystone - A Life Rebuilt has been shortlisted for the Saltire Society Non-Fiction Book of the Year 2026. The biggest literary prize in Scotland. I think about where I've come from, and I genuinely cannot believe I'm here. #WritingCommunity #Writing #Book #Books #Scotland #News #UK

#Writephant Q4. Have you ever gone on a writing retreat? Was it a specifically organized one or an impromptu one? #Writephant #WritingCommunity #AuthorLife #WritersofMastodon

Rewriting the fucking book again. I want both the stewardesses in the bathroom and the passengers they’re “serving” to swallow it with the same dirty high. Not for snobs who jerk off to fancy syntax and complex constructions. I need an agent who gets it from the first paragraph: “Shit, I can sell this like the treasure map.” Dynamic, fast, no dumbassery - but with balls and real depth. #writing #writingcommunity #books #HerOwnDream #blog #art #Monsterdon #nobelprize

Hello from Wichita, Kansas. I'm Alexandra, and I write poetry, essays, and short stories that have somehow ended up in 31 anthologies. Tomorrow, my very own book, Fake Faces, Real Losses, lands on Amazon, which is thrilling and mildly terrifying. I'd appreciate it if you'd stop by and take a look. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HLH7TYT1?tag=inkandecho02-20 @writingcommunity@fedigroups.social @poetry@fedigroups.social #Introduction #WritingCommunity #Poetry #BookLaunch #NewBook

Is there anyone here in the Fediverse who has some experience with Kickstarter? And who would be willing to chat with me about it? I'm thinking about doing a book launch over there, and feel very insecure about strategy. Yet I'm also very excited about it all (and a bit overwhelmed). #WritingCommunity#Kickstarter

#Today 29 Good day! There’s pine tree texture, but then there’s this pine tree seemingly becoming a dinosaur foot at its base. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Made dragon series covers yesterday (because I was not ready to write Wolves), and because I'm so giddy about it all, I did a quick cover reveal on Patreon. Free to read: https://www.patreon.com/hannahsteenbock/posts/new-dragon-170879240 The actual re-launch will happen on Kickstarter next year. #WritingCommunity#Dragons
