“There is a cohort of men who resent the responsibilities and obligations of adulthood—of the fact that you owe things to other people.” - Jamelle Bouie I could not agree more with this article & not just because I, too, was raised to be an asshole man & still have to beat that motherfucker inside me down all the goddamn time. 💰️ Capitalism: Malignant by Design https://blog.Persagen.org/capitalism_cancer.pdf Politics is dominated by wealth, power & influence. Corporations, billionaires, equity-hoarding elites fund think tanks, nonprofits, and lobbyists that author far-right libertarian policy. Thailand is Asia's unequivocal champion for LGBTQ+ equality and rights. On 23 January 2025, Thailand's Marriage Equality Act came into force, marking a turning point for the entire region. By amending the Civil and Commercial Code to replace "men and women" with "individuals" and "husband and wife" with "marriage partners," Thailand did more than pass a law as it fundamentally rewrote the definition of legal recognition in the country. Same-sex couples since that time enjoy full rights: financial protections, medical decision-making power, inheritance, tax benefits, and the right to jointly adopt children. Hundreds of couples registered their marriages on day one alone, with over 150 ceremonies held in a single Bangkok shopping mall, a joyous, public declaration that love deserves no barriers. Thailand's leadership extends beyond borders. As Asia's cultural powerhouse, Thailand influences entertainment, tourism, media, and social norms across the entire region. When Thailand chooses equality, it signals to neighboring countries that progress is possible, that modernity and inclusivity can strengthen rather than threaten tradition. And Thailand proves it works: open, welcoming cities like Bangkok have long been havens for LGBTQ+ travelers and expats, and now they're legal havens too. This achievement doesn't end the journey, but it sets a direction. A direction where dignity is guaranteed, where families are protected, and where no one is left behind because of who they love. Thailand gave thousands of couples the gift of recognition and gave Asia a roadmap for what's possible. Since that time, Thailand remains a standard-bearer in Asia that takes the lead in advancing LGBTQ+ rights. #LGBTQ #LGBT #Thailand #Asia #HumanRights #society #equality #SoutheastAsia #ราชอาณาจักรไทย #LoveIsLove #แอลจีบีที

A quotation from Samuel Johnson It may be said that disease generally begins that equality which death completes; the distinctions which set one man so much above another are very little perceived in the gloom of a sick chamber. Anti-Suffrage Posters of America in the Early 1900s Context: “Before the 19th Amendment, there was an entire movement built to stop it. Organized opposition to women’s suffrage started as early as the 1880s in Massachusetts, but went national in 1911 when the National Association Opposed to Woman Suffrage (NAOWS) was founded. Led by Josephine Dodge, the group argued women were too “delicate” for politics, that voting would destroy the family & that most women simply didn’t want to vote. It worked… for a while. By 1916 NAOWS had grown to over 350,000 members across 25 states, funded partially by the liquor industry, which feared women voters would push through Prohibition. They lost. On August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified, and NAOWS dissolved shortly after. These posters are the propaganda that almost kept women from voting. Women, you must remember that the vote was never handed over, it was fought for against people who worked just as hard to take it away. Somewhere, someone was on the other side of these posters. They were organizing, getting arrested, going on hunger strikes and more, so that a right this basic wouldn’t be up for debate. Sitting out an election is a disservice to every woman who fought this fight so you wouldn’t have to. Use your right. " Source:

I've got to get moving and do some work. Just a reminder folks #AltText (if you're really about INCLUSION) #Equality : let's not be blind to the blind. Too many EQUALITY MEMES / INFOGRAPHICS that neglect the Visually Impaired. I don't exclude when I post, so I re-did this to be more inclusive.
