Fedi hive mind please help For my first ~4 years here, all I had to do to read #alttext was hover the word 'ALT' in the image Sometime in the last month, that stopped working, and nothing I do allows me to see the alt text. I've tried opening the image but... no dice. I read Mastodon in a browser (safari) on a MacBook Air and all my software is up to date On of the great joys of Fedi is reading all of the wonderfully decriptive and funny alt text and I'd like it back please. Help! Thanks

That's the best place for the text, not in a reply where people have to go hunting for it. Once again, #AltText has made me look closer and be wiser. I’ve been watching this building go up. I decided it has enough finished windows now to be allowed on Mastodon on a Friday. I looked it up so I could put the height in the image description and discovered to my surprise that it's a wooden building.
