@dansup@mastodon.social aha, fair enough, makes sense, alas btw, fyi, since the amazeballs flurry of mods you were so kind to do for me over those recent days, my daily fediversing UX with #columnly is the best it's ever been, irrespective of all the many instances, fedi-alternatives [masto, firefish, friendica, sharkey, pleroma, akkoma], & masto frontends [mastodeck, sengi, phanpy, statuzer] i have tried across the past four years. you have made a large material improvement to each day for me! 🤩🤗

@dansup@mastodon.social you are very kind! ta. ok. two more for now [sorry] in the Notifications column [which i keep permanently visible], when peeps Reply to me, i see their text with good proper word-wrap; this is fine. otoh when they Favourite or Boost my posts, the associated item in the Notifications column has no word-wrap, it just appears as a continuous single-line, which is almost always too long for the column width, so most of it is truncated. if there were multiple "ats" before the text, they actually use all that narrow width, so i can't see any of my text & thus often do not know which post is being interacted-with. possible solutions might be to ensure word-wrap also applies to these, or maybe like Phanpy the full post pops up with a mouse-hover...? in threads with responses to an OP with a CW, usually all the replies also have CW. the other Masto front-ends i keep mentioning, or at least two of the three for sure, have an icon / button near the top of such threads to temporarily reveal all the CWs in just that thread, for the duration of that thread being read this one time. it is very convenient, as otherwise one must tediously manually open each CW one by one. might #Columnly also possibly gain such a button pls? thanks, & again, sorry

First! Thanks for everything you do for the community, @dansup@mastodon.social. I've been testing Columnly and I am sold on the columns view since Tweetdeck. Currently I am using iPhanpy for iOS and while it's hard to add other types of accounts there, it's great for viewing other servers local timeline. Is that something you'd consider adding as a column type? The boost carousel is another great feature in the timeline. #columnly

hi @dansup@mastodon.social if you look at the pic below, taken as i was drafting a reply to an unrelated post, we can see that although #columnly tells me to whom i'm replying, it does not show me their actual post. masto, phanpy, statuzer otoh do show it, which is most helpful if i need to be reminded of various parts of it for composing my reply. would it be possible pls to also provide such feature in Columnly? 🤷‍♀️

Did you know, https://columnly.social has a custom theme editor, and you can share/export/import custom themes? This started as my own indecisiveness, I couldn't pick between a light and dark mode, so I tried a few variants and then had an idea, maybe people would like this ability. So I shipped a few themes, and they asked if they could customize them further, so I obliged. #Columnly

@dansup@mastodon.social it works great thanks! honestly, your helpfulness, & cleverness, is/are just wonderful... i'm most grateful! 🏆️ i thought of this next one, in the shower this morn, then forgot all about it [night here now]. the control you give us with themes is lovely, & i like being able to use a custom colour for the accents [which i've done]. what do you think about providing a similar option for the theme background colour? eg, instead of the current #151118, one could tweak it to say #2c2c2c, etc? #columnly

Hi @dansup@mastodon.social in my last post earlier today i said i hoped not to need to bother you again for a while, but alas another thing has come up. in Masto, Phanpy, & Statuzer, it is easy to add a new Follow to a list, from a menu option when looking at their profile. yesterday i Followed you, & today remembered i wanted to add you into my Tech list... but i can't see any way to do it in #Columnly. Pls can you tell me how to do it? This time anyway, i'll just briefly launch Masto & do it that way.

@dansup@mastodon.social hello! minutes ago i received another UI update, which ofc i accepted. i don't know if it was for the translations, or some unrelated matter [might a changelog be possible pls?]. in case it was for the translations, i then looked down my timeline for non-english posts. there were german french & portuguese. the majority were german, so i kept testing with those. at the first one, i was prompted to d/l the pkg, so i did. sadly, at each of the other german ones thereafter, i was still prompted to repeat that process. fyi. 🤷‍♀️ #columnly

@dansup@mastodon.social is this a bug, or intended behaviour? in Settings i keep the Composer column Off, & access it when needed from its sidepanel button. but lots of times when i reply to anyone's post, as my post transmits, the Composer column opens, & i need to keep manually closing it. it would be nicer if it remained closed until i explicitly call it from the sidebar button. am i misunderstanding the design intention perhaps? #columnly

@dansup@mastodon.social hello again, sorry to bug you once more. another two issues i have found, fyi: at least some, maybe many, posts with embedded web links, do not fetch the preview thumbnail like does happen in Masto, Phanpy, & Statuzer. is that your design intention, or is it otherwise possible to have posts auto-fetch the previews pls? in Masto & Statuzer, as well as inserting emojis via the formal emoji-picker tool, it is easy to begin typing the beginning of a known emoji & then the interface recognises it & pops up some matching choices, which then once clicked, are inserted. afaict this does not work in Columnly, eg, if i was going to use the Hugs emoji & begin with :hug, no auto-complete happens, no suggestions popup, so afaict i have to use the mouse with the formal emoji-picker tool to do it. i'd value your thoughts on this pls? #columnly

@dansup@mastodon.social hi again. fwiw i have good, albeit a bit weird, info wrt the First, & Last, of my dot-points.

background; my default browser is :firefox_nightly: but today when i discovered your project i was temporarily using :firefox: . the issues i noticed, & posted about, all arose in :firefox: .

after getting all the settings as i preferred, & all my deck columns sorted out too, i then exported both the settings, & deck, from :firefox: & imported them into :firefox_nightly:. after doing this, Nightly immediately began correctly behaving both with the timeline "Show new posts" bar, & the dot-points appearance.

otoh ordinary FF continued "wrong" for both issues. however after actually closing then relaunching FF, it now also correctly behaves for those two items, just like Nightly. so, it seems that for those two issues at least, your current code already does work ok, but it needs a browser restart to apply.

does that sound like what you wanted? fyi, in case it helps.
