Catodon blog URL and other questions Today, the URL of your standalone blog page in Catodon is using this structure: https://catodon.rocks/@catodon/blog , so /@user/blog. Would this be a reason for you to not host your blog on a Catodon server? Is a domain.com/customblogname URL better? Would this be good enough, or is a URL structured like customblogname.domain.com a prerequisite for your blog? In general, which are, for you, the things that the platform that hosts your blog must absolutely have, and which are your nice-to-haves? Any features that you haven't seen in any software, but you think are a good idea for a blogging platform? Thanks! #catodon #blog #blogs #blogging

"FlatPress is much more than its code. The project lives through the people who report bugs, contribute translations, develop plugins and themes, help others in the forum, or simply share their experiences." So true! Please say hello to the new maintainer of the @flatpress@fosstodon.org blogging engine, @Fraenkiman@mastodon.social : https://www.flatpress.org/2026/06/24/a-new-chapter-for-flatpress-and-thank-you-arvid/ #foss #OpenSource #blogging

I've been going to movies a lot lately as I have a bunch of free tickets. The movie theater experience is supposed to be a great experience — that's what you pay for. But watching 15+ minutes of ads and being limited to over expensive snacks (or sneaking in your own) is just not a great experience compared to watching movies at home. https://hamatti.org/posts/im-not-a-big-fan-of-movie-theater-experience/ #blogging #movies

#Wordpress #Linux #OpenSource #Blogging

Three good things 1- another day at the hospital in Bangkok, but this time we hired a driver and I slept peacefully all the way home. This is a stark contrast from our usual round trip to Bangkok which includes car, minibus, skytrain, subway, taxi, train, boat, motorcycle. A hired car, with air con and an air purifier and pillows! Gentle, gentle, gentle. 2- I found a rose quartz baby Buddha. Pictures will surely come. But for now I have this perfect amplifier of unconditional love that rests in the palm of my hand. 3- every day we are hustling. Amidst the baking and care giving we are also spending hours each week at my favorite park exercising. The trip to Bangkok logged us 7,000 steps, the time at the park blissfully jogging and breathing in rice fields logged us another 9,000 steps. {bonus good thing: it is now raining, petrichor rising and steel roof humming. No rain while out and about} {{bonus bonus good thing: finding a deeeeep veggie soup, perfectly boiled eggs from monks, fruit fruit and more fruit, a beet shake that tasted like sweet earth; I live in the most delicious country}} #ThreeGoodThings #3goodthings #gratitude #blogging #thailand

Not every online community is worth joining. Look for places where people ask real questions and share useful information. Check Reddit, Facebook Groups, Discord servers, Slack communities, LinkedIn groups and niche forums. Watch the conversations before posting. Are members active? Are moderators present? Is the group full of spam? Don't join just to drop links. Answer questions, help people and learn what your audience cares about. Traffic can come later. #CommunityBuilding #Blogging #Marketing

What’s The Best Thing You’ve Ever Found Randomly On The Street? Daily writing promptWhat’s the best thing you’ve ever found randomly on the street?View all responses Sounds like a pretty random thing to be a “best” thing, but I was once leaving a Bullet For My Valentine show in Manchester. On the floor was a signed guitar pick from what turned out to be someone from the band! I could not believe my luck, I cherished that thing for YEARS. https://open.spotify.com/track/5pKCDm2fw4k6D6C5Rk646C?si=8f5ea8aff09b4b79 Unfortunately I kept it in my wallet in a little plastic sleeve and two “lovely” gentlemen decided it was only right to relive the burden of carrying my wallet in my pocket. Enough about my sad tale, what is the best thing you have ever found on the ground? All rights to the song used in this post are retained by the recording artist.
