https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jul/10/epa-rollback-endangered-habitats-logging-mining The #EPA ought to be re-named, as long as #Trump is #POTUS, @DoomsdaysCW@kolektiva.social, as the #Environmental #Destruction #Agency, or EDA, as that is clearly what it's Hell-bent on doing.

We haven’t received any help for a long time. Today is Friday, and my children desperately need food and your support. 💔 We are going through extremely difficult days, and even providing one meal has become a struggle. Please don’t leave us alone. Any help, no matter how small, could mean a meal for my children today.🙏❤️ Please support us and share our story. Your kindness can make a real difference. #Gaza #Palestine #Bombing #Destruction #fadiforgaza @simon_brooke@mastodon.scot

Australian wildlife are seeking out buildings as substitute habitats as their natural homes and hollows are being destroyed "In New South Wales, the Wires rescue service said animals often sought shelter during cold or extreme weather. We’re in a biodiversity crisis and a housing crisis." "While architecture often focused on ways to keep nature out, there were opportunities to design buildings that were better for both people and wildlife. That could include wildlife-friendly lighting and noise reduction measures, as well as habitat features, like swallow shelves or possum boxes." “One of the things that I would really like to see in Australia, is that we think about embedding the ecologist in the design process like you would with, say, an engineer." >>. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/sep/06/possums-in-the-roof-koalas-in-bed-study-shows-how-animals-resort-to-australian-homes-after-habitat-loss #biodiversity #wildlife #housing #habitat #destruction #sharedspaces #ExtremeHeat

“Project Panama: Scanning and Book Destruction at Anthropic” by Binoy Kampmark in Savage Minds on Substack @brejoc@fosstodon.org@ai@newsmast.community “Book burning. Book pulping. Book vandalising. It’s all the fashion and, dare one say it, the rage. Libraries are carting them off to the dump. Repositories of memory are being shredded in favour of supposedly more useful digital formats. And now, Anthropic’s hungering for books, not as sources of enlightened knowledge so much as blue raw data for their Language Learning Models, is there for all to see. Acquire the books in question. Give service providers the task of severing their spines. Employ scanners to process the information. Dispatch the paper to be pulped and recycled (awfully good of them). The result: a private research library able to nourish Claude, the company’s premier LLM” https://open.substack.com/pub/savageminds/p/project-panama #Press #SocialMedia #AI #Anthropic #LLM #Claude #Books #Digitizatikn #Destruction #ProjectPanama
