It's hard to overstate how disappointed I am by the recent #Apple products (except for the Duo which, playing around it it, seems like they did an excellent job). The HomeView is a confusing product that shouldn't exist. It's an iPad Mini that isn't an iPad (and actually runs for some unknown reason CarPlay apps). It exists to basically say that it exists. The new MacBook Pro with touchscreen though is the most distressing product to me, an Apple fanboy, that I've seen since the return of Jobs. Apple said for years they didn't just want to put a touchscreen on a laptop, it was a bad design. During Jobs and after Jobs the message was clear that "we'll only do this when we can do it correctly". What they launched solved none of these problems. It's a conventional MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, running an OS that hasn't been optimized for touch, with applications that haven't been optimized for touch. It doesn't do a good job at being a touch target, it's exactly the same worthless add-on that has been shipping in the Windows world for years for absolutely no reason. It is the definition of a company without vision or leadership to yeet out products randomly and see if they hit. It's lazy and it shows a lack of style and taste. It's not my job to tell you whether the thing you made is good, especially at these prices.
