Apparently some #iPhone Duo’s are showing ‘green lines’ / dead pixels / cracks in the screen in production Ofc #Apple is a startup and not a multi trillion dollar company so shit happens

Heya! I'm Rafe (pronounced "Rayf") and it's been a minute since I posted an updated #introduction so here we go! First off, I'm here to chill and have a good time. There are enough bad vibes in the real world so don't be bringing that. Okay, now that we're past that… Happily married since 2009, proud #dad since 2010, and #IT helpdude since 2018. My #tech preferences lean toward #Apple - my daily drivers are an #iPhone 15 Plus and a #MacBook Air (M3) - but I also run #Windows 11 Pro and #Linux Mint at home. You won't find me taking sides on any "this tech vs that tech" arguments. Aside from tech stuff, I post a lot (probably more) about #Daggerheart, #DnD, and other #TTRPG systems, as well as #music, especially weird niche #metal - my current favorite bands are #BeastInBlack, #Blackbriar, and #Gloryhammer. Then there are the random thoughts and occasional shitposts… Also, I dabble in #photography, #painting, and #writing! Links for where I post that stuff are in my profile. Let's be friends! #intro

This is how my #iPhone passcode screen looked after the latest iOS update. Had to guess where the number buttons were. Well done #Apple!

Hi Mastodon 👋 I'm Hideyuki, and I make MEMOROLL alone on Amami Oshima, a small island in southern Japan. MEMOROLL is a notes app for iPhone. Every note keeps its time and place, so your days don't blur into one: look back by day, in a calendar, or on a map where a day's notes become numbered pins. There's no account and no server. Your notes stay on your iPhone. #introduction #MEMOROLL #AmamiOshima #iOS #iPhone #indiedev #privacy #buildinpublic

Apple’s folding phone has a manufacturing wrinkle. A report puts iPhone Duo production yields near 60%, raising questions about availability. Apple hasn’t confirmed the figure. #Apple #iPhone #Foldable

After 1 year with the #iPhone 17 I can confidently say I miss the home button more than ever. FaceID + gestures are the worst possible ways to manage phone access/navigate. I would gladly give up a half inch of this ridiculously oversized screen to have a home button with TouchID again.

#Apple sent me a notification to my settings app for my new #iPhone that says I can get free #AppleOne for 3 month trial since I bought a new device. I sub. I'm charged immediately. I contact apple and they told me that I'm not eligible for the trial because I had Apple One before. Then why the hell would you send me an on device notification to a promotion I'm not eligible for? I was pissed because my Apple Music & iCloud Storage just renewed 2 days ago. So I thought I was double charged. Apple Support let me know that I would automatically be refunded for the existing subscriptions pro-rated but I had no idea that was the case until I contacted them. I was surprised by this experience needless to say.

John Ternus kicked off his tenure as Apple CEO by announcing the long-awaited folding iPhone. But behind the scenes, it looks like products and services are going to get more expensive to please shareholders and he’s ready to sacrifice privacy on the altar of AI. https://disconnect.blog/red-flags-at-the-start-of-apples-john-ternus-era/ #tech #ai #apple #privacy #iphone #iphoneduo #generativeai #surveillance
