I just discovered something cool I wanted to share. If you live in or near Toronto and need free food or know someone who does, this website has collected a long list of soup kitchens, community fridges, meal programs, food banks, and other places that can help: https://freemealsnearme.com You can search by your postal code to see what is close to your home, workplace, or school. Boosts are warmly welcomed. #Toronto #Food

“A TTC streetcar *looks* big, but its total space footprint in traffic replaces just 5 stopped cars or ~2 moving ones. A street car can be nearly empty and still be more efficient than cars.” Image and text posted by @cbkemp.bsky.social #TTC #Toronto #TOPoli #Transit

What are some good volunteering activities for a group of kids ages 8 or so +? I'm part of two martial arts groups and I want to get the kids involved in group volunteering. Helping those less able is actually a core tenant of a lot of martial arts schools like Wing Chun. My kids are at an age where it's time to get involved. Any ideas for group volunteering activities for a group of able bodied kids who definitely have lots of energy? We can probably put together teams of 6-12 kids for various activities. I was thinking about sorting and delivery the Toronto Star boxes over the holidays. I already reached out to them. Other ideas welcome #Toronto

A huge congratulations to Olivia Chow and the incredible slate of progressive councillors elected in Toronto tonight. This win goes beyond any one person or campaign — it’s the result of years of movements organizing together, from tenant unions to climate activists, migrant rights advocates and those on the front lines of harm reduction. You mobilized and knocked on every last door to make this happen. Tonight, you’ve secured a better future for Toronto together. #canada #toronto

You may say it's a conspiracy theory but Waymo is arriving in Toronto and we have this master plan to dismantle our bike lanes happening at the same time Waymo has issues with San Francisco bike lanes https://futurism.com/future-society/waymo-bike-lanes-traffic We start removing our bike lanes in #toronto the same day Waymo puts their first cars in the streets for testing (plan to rollout by 2028) Yes I am suspicious AF #waymo #ontario #biketooter #onpoli

Tonight, on day one of #DougFord 's planned removal of #Toronto bike lanes, protesters successfully blocked their removal. Toronto folks would rather that $50 million be spent on keeping small town hospital ER's open or getting school roofs fixed. #Ontario #onpoli #topoli #cycling

There's a giant NDA up as a Nuit Blanche art installation, calling out the silencing of curators and artists who've spoken critically of Israel. It's in the alley off Spadina south of Richmond leading to Cinecycle. By No Arms in the Arts. The protest artwork highlights concerns in the art community about censorship and the professional repercussions faced by artists and cultural workers who express their views opposing Israel's genocide. #Toronto #NuitBlanche #Israel #FreeSpeech
