This wonderful bit of cotton-candy is taken from the kaleidoscopic surf/world travel flick, Follow Me. The song is written by soundtrack composer #StuPhillips and a pre-#Bread #DavidGates, sung by OG Hollywood nepo babies Dino, Desi & Billy. I take solace in the notion that there are a few others out there who still find this irresistible as I do.

THE ID The Inner Sounds Of The Id 2023 U.S. 2xLP MONO reissue Blue And Purple Vinyl Last spin of the night goes to one of the most satisfying reissues of all time for me. Such a killer (and criminally underrated) #psychedelic rock record, & Sundazed really outdid themselves here. An EXCELLENT sounding mono reissue from the original analog master by Kevin Gray, but where this separates itself is the bonus record. A completely different version of the album was found when they rediscovered the tapes. THOSE are alternate instrumental versions of the record (which are mixed in stereo here), and they really show how these great tunes were constructed. Bass player Glenn Cass’s playing is much more up front on the instrumentals, and he only heard them for the first time during the reissue’s prep. I'll recommend this one for consideration: one part #krautrock, half a cup of #acid-folk, all wrapped up in an experimental #psychedelic jam band collective of the best sort Their approach to making music feels very reminiscent of #CAN, which from me is the highest form of compliment. SCREAMING TREES Invisible Lantern 1988 U.S. CD 💿 issue Awesome little find today! As much as I love the #90s Trees output (and I do LOVE IT), the major label money and production value made them a bit of a different band in comparison to the earlier SST albums like this one. Their earlier records lean more into hazy & heavy #psychedelic #garage rock than the #grunge -a-riffic albums from the halcyon 90s alternative days. I don’t see a lot of these early SST Trees albums lying around on CD, nevermind vinyl. It’s a bit of a shock to hear Lanegan’s vocals on these albums if all you’re familiar with is the deep, gravelly voice from their heyday. Here, his voice is much higher-pitched, and perhaps not yet affected by a lifelong journey into drugs.
