Least expensive 32 GBytes DDR5 RAM kit available in the UK this morning, with decent specs for an AMD AM5 based PC: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/klevv-fit-v-expo-32gb-2x16gb-6000mhz-c28-ddr5-dual-channel-kit-black/MEM-KLV-07037.html £ 399.95. Gigabyte is launching B550 AM4 motherboards and recommending four-year-old CPUs because the memory crisis is really that bad AM4 is back on the menu. https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/motherboards/gigabyte-is-launching-b550-am4-motherboards-and-recommending-four-year-old-cpus-because-the-memory-crisis-is-really-that-bad/ #pccomponents #pcbuilding #hardware #motherboards #AMD #AM4 #DDR4 #hardwaredeals #pcgaming #budgetbuilds #gamerhardware #hardwaredeals [PCGamer]

It’s been a week but I’ve been really happy with my new PC build. I went with large fans and airflow and I really just never hear it. Counting the GPU and PSU fans, it sits at 10 fans: 6x 140mm, 2x 120mm, and 2x 85mm on the GPU. I think the ONLY thing that I feel like I gotta change is the annoyingly blinding blue LED in the power button. Blue LEDs already annoy me but heck it’s bright. I think I’ll pull it out and put a soft white LED in it that barely glows. I fear it’s gonna be a lot more disassembly than I want to do, though, so I might live with it and put a piece of vellum over it or something. It seriously lights up the wall across from the PC. Building a PC turns a generic box of plastic and metal into your machine. But do you actually know what those components are doing under the hood? 🛠️💻 I wrote a simplified, beginner-friendly guide covering: • The core hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.) • Crucial compatibility traps to avoid • A teaser on why #Cybersecurity experts need to look closely at hardware-level threats right out of the box. I noticed the motherboard is flexing a little, enough that the IO shield is partially misaligned I didn't check before installing the board, maybe it's just pressure from the CPU cooler, and was there before? Or maybe the ABS part that the board is mounted to shrank a little, enough to flex the board. Seemed okay during installation though, I don't recall having to force it I don't have enough yellow ABS left to try and reprint it, and I don't really want to rebuild... someone tell me this is fine and won't break the board please 🥲 #3dprinting #pcbuilding

I must remember to take the protective film off this time! 😉🤷‍♂️ #PCBuilding #PCComponents #ThermalRight
