Looking for #disabled people who want a friendship and someone who doesn't mind me popping into their DMs regularly. In terms of #disabilities, I have juvenile #lupus and kidney failure which is a result of it. I also have #LongCovid, #diabetes, #cerebralpalsy, #AuDHD, #osteoporosis, and a slew of #mentalhealth diagnoses. I use oxygen, 24/7 oxygen user due to Long Covid as well as a full time wheelchair user. A boost would mean alot. #introduction #newhere

#Children have borne the brunt of the #infections, making up >70% of confirmed cases. >80 children & adolescents have been hospitalized this year for complications like #pneumonia, which leaves patients gasping for air, & #brain swelling, which can cause lasting damage, including #blindness, #deafness & intellectual #disabilities. (There are NO treatments for #measles, though researchers are trying to develop them.) #idiocracy #Trump #RFKJr #PublicHealth #vaccines #science #medicine #eugenics

There will be those who won't know or care until the bullshit bites them in the ass personally, and until then "AI is awesome!" " #Meta Platforms is facing a federal #lawsuit in the #UnitedStates after 26 current and former #employees alleged that the company used #AI-assisted tools during a major round of #layoffs in a way that disproportionately affected workers with medical conditions, #disabilities, or those on protected medical or #familyLeave"

Meanwhile, after a #Trump White House push to #police #homelessness, the #DOJ released guidance that lowered the barrier to #institutionalizing any person with a #disability. Taken together, the actions signal a worrying return to a reality where people with #disabilities are pushed to the margins of society, advocates said. #law #ableism #discrimination #eugenics

#Trump actions signal a move toward #institutionalizing people with #disabilities For decades, #disabled people have fought for their #rights to go to school & live alongside peers without disabilities — rights that some fear could be losing ground under Trump. Last month, the Dept of #Education announced it would shift oversight of #SpecialEducation to #HHS, led by #RFKJr, whose comments on disabilities such as autism are 🦇💩. #law #ableism #discrimination #eugenics

"UN: Israeli war on Gaza leaves tens of thousands with hearing impairments NEW YORK, June 27, 2026 (WAFA) – The United Nations revealed on Saturday that tens of thousands of people in the Gaza Strip have suffered hearing impairments as a result of repeated explosions caused by Israeli occupation airstrikes in the enclave since October 2023. The United Nations stated in a report issued on the occasion of the International Day of Deafblindness, marked annually on June 27, that many persons with disabilities in Gaza have lost their assistive devices, including wheelchairs and hearing aids. According to the United Nations, the war on Gaza has deepened the vulnerability of this group, noting that some people are unable to hear evacuation orders, cannot see their way, or are unable to move without assistance, placing them at double risk in an environment where danger zones and displacement areas are rapidly changing." https://english.wafa.ps/Pages/Details/172065 #UN #gaza #healthcare #disabilities #wheelchairs #HumanitarianCrisis

"Medical misdiagnosis costs hundreds of billions of dollars each year in the U.S., a financial burden that quietly drains household finances—especially for women, who are more likely to face years of repeat appointments, tests, and prescriptions before getting the right answer. For many, this means hundreds or thousands of dollars in extra bills each year, often for care that doesn’t resolve their symptoms." https://www.newsweek.com/medical-misdiagnosis-costs-billions-women-often-pay-more-11881343 #healthcare #misdiagnosis #MedicalErrors #disabilities

"Nebraska is racing to implement Medicaid work requirements by May 1 — eight months before the national deadline set by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed by Congress last summer.
