If you/your household earns less than 200% FPL, I *STRONGLY* urge you to consider a SILVER #ACA plan...in order to effectively make it a PLATINUM plan! To explain: In addition to PREMIUM tax credits, you may recall I mentioned "Cost Sharing Reduction" or CSR assistance upthread.

There's a lot of talk about the millions of people enrolled in "Exchange-based" #ACA coverage, but there's also *another* ~2M or so enrolled in essentially identical *same plans*...OFF-exchange. This means they skipped the ACA exchanges entirely & enrolled directly via Blue Cross, UHC, Molina, etc.

In 2025, #ACA enrollees earning between 150 - 200% FPL paid between 0 - 2% of their income for the benchmark plan. NOW, they have to pay between 4.3 - 6.8% of their income. In 2025, if you earned 200 - 250% FPL you paid 2 - 4%. NOW you have to pay 6.8 - 8.7%, and so on.

In 2025, #ACA enrollees earning less than 150% FPL (barely over Medicaid level) could get the *benchmark Silver plan* for $0 in premiums (or $1 in some states) (They still had nominal deductibles & co-pays). NOW, however, they have to pay 2.15% - 4.3% of their income in premiums.

🚨 This is where we get into the whole "Expired Tax Credit" brouhaha, so bear with me. This table shows the *2025* #ACA tax credit formula vs. the *2027* formula. the columns on the left show different household income levels for a single adult & a family of four.

Health insurance scams & junk plan pitches are a bigger problem than ever as those facing skyrocketing premiums are preyed upon. Healthcare.gov is the official #ACA exchange website for 29 states. The other 21 (+DC) have their own official websites:

🚨🚨🚨 WISCONSIN: Over 45,000 #ACA enrollees were already priced out of healthcare coverage entirely as of February by the GOP allowing the enhanced subsidies to expire. Unsubsidized enrollees among the ~245,000 who remain are facing ~22% average rate hikes in 2027. acasignups.net/rate_changes... 2027 Rate Changes - Wisconsin:...

"Months after congressional #Republicans refused to extend enhanced subsidies for Americans who receive their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, hospitals across the US are seeing a surge in uninsured patients seeking emergency medical care." This is classic Republican false economy. The #EmergencyDepartment is the most expensive way to deliver care --and patients suffer needlessly from delaying care. https://www.commondreams.org/news/uninsured-emergency-room-surge #Healthcare #ACA
