One of the swifts I decided to line rather than carry over #OntarioParks #Canoe #CanoeTrip #KawarthaHighlands
Kawartha Highlands Trip Report:
Three days, 2 nights climbing up to Serpentine Lake.
First time for me and grandma and 3.5.
Bugs were light but the deer flies found you and harassed you. Bite on my hand had it swollen up.
Cut the trip a day short when an old man and his partner who had been staying on Copper lake that month said the stream from Anderson Lake back into Copper was a bog. I’ve watched enough horror films to know when the old man says don’t do something , listen!
With rain on the third day and it becoming a short portage back into Copper instead of the loop, we decided to push on for home.

Went canoeing today on a river north of Boston. Very pleasant, ideal conditions. Saw a nice mix of turtles, swans and their cygnets, a heron, and expansive areas of flowering lily pads. So much nature to enjoy in spite of the river winding through neighborhoods! #nature #canoe #river#photography #NaturePhotography #landscape #LandscapePhotography #boat
Bill Mason: Canada's Canoe Filmmaker
Bill Mason was the most successful filmmaker in the history of the National Film Board. An artist, author, and conservationist, his films celebrated the Canadian wilderness. Classics like 'Paddle to the Sea' and the 'Path of the Paddle' series inspired generations of canoeists and remain touchstones of Canadian outdoor culture. #Canada #NFB #Filmmaking #Canoe 🇨🇦

Reminds me of a picture I took back in June 2006 on #Norfolk #England's #HicklingBroad.
It was part of a sequence that accompanied an article in published in the magazine "Norfolk Afloat" that covered the Open Canoe #Sailing Group's visit to the #NorfolkBroads
