Republicans' attempts to sabotage the US postal service appear to be affecting their own rural voters disproportionately.
They are trying absolutely everything but they are consistently too incompetent to sabotage the election effectively. Get out and vote! We are winning this!

NEW: A ProPublica data analysis shows that delays resulting from USPS’ cost-cutting measures have endangered the validity of ballots mailed in rural areas.
Counties that voted for Trump in 2024 have been most affected.

My point is, despite the characterization of #Oregon as an “exclusively” vote by mail state, (which it technically is) it is perfectly possible for those living in the state to receive and cast a ballot without ever depending upon the #USPS.
There is some satisfaction in evading Carrot Caligula’s best efforts to suppress the vote using his corrupt pos #postmaster. I beat the system & with a bit of effort you can too. (3/3)

NEW: ProPublica’s reporting reveals for the first time the extent of the White House’s role in trying to dictate how mail-in ballots are processed, spurring behind-the-scenes drama that played out for nearly a year.

"Overwhelmed" US postal worker in Utah threw away 300 mail ballots and other mail during the recent primary.
Due to demanding work loads, 12-14 hour days up to 6-7 days a week, the postal service has a very high turnover rate. Some positions see a 50% or more turnover in the first year.

Some brave young protestors from the Sunrise Movement in #Minneapolis crashed a meeting of #USPS leadership to warn them that the people expect them to follow the #SCOTUS order and deliver ballots.
It's not a bad idea to make sure they know we are watching them. #Trump deliberately put an election denier in charge and we know these people are criminals. The least they deserve is peaceful protestors yelling at them.

The ruling released Monday by the high court means the U.S. Postal Service is expected to continue delivering ballots as usual."

A new audit by the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General found a lack of training for post office staff, deficiencies in how ballots were tracked and errors leading to delays.
Experts say it raises questions ahead of the midterms.

Below is the package tracking log so far (reformatted for legibility). #USPS sent the package by way of Puerto Rico and Florida. It arrived in Dallas yesterday, but they sent it back to Florida!

A great examination of the challenges facing the postal system in the US. And while it is specific to the USPS, it rhymes with what is happening at Canada Post and other postal systems around the world.

Updated #USPS policy says #postmarks might not indicate the first day the Postal Service received the mail, but rather the day it was handled in one of its processing centers. Those centers are increasingly likely to be further away from certain communities because of recent consolidations within the Postal Service, which could further delay postmarks.
