Hi fedi, we are The Caucus for Powerful Reform (CPR), a reform caucus within the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA), one of Oregon's largest healthcare unions.

We are RNs, APPs, Professionals, clinicians, and ONA members from across Oregon who want our union to be truly democratic, transparent, and member driven.
As a reform caucus, the pillars of our platform are: build a meaningfully democratic union, what’s good for the community is what’s good for our union, and transparency in union leadership.
We often shorten this to a motto length phrase: transparency, democracy, and solidarity.
CPR is the most accomplished group of elected bargaining unit leaders in ONA, who’ve directly led many of our union’s most successful contract campaigns since the pandemic. Our Leaders’ wins include the lead table in the largest healthcare strike in Oregon history, the highest wages and staffing standards at the biggest health systems in Oregon for caregivers who passed strike votes in units as large as 4,000 workers and as small as 150 members in towns like Seaside.
Our commitment is to use our experience as member leaders, who led historic wins in units large and small, to support democratic and transparent efforts for members across the entire state of Oregon, as we take on the threat of healthcare funding cuts.
We saw a need for change in our union, so we got to work by involving members from across Oregon
In 2026, ONA members decidedly voted in a majority of CPR members to the ONA Board of Directors.
Our union is statewide and represents more than just nurses.
Together we can make sure that we are helping to shape the future of healthcare in Oregon by continuing to elect candidates that will prioritize making healthcare in Oregon more accessible, accountable, and democratic.
As Jobs With Justice writes in their Union 101, reform affects all of us
It’s easy to forget that unions fought for many of the protections we take for granted in today’s workplaces: the minimum wage, the eight-hour work day, child labor laws, health and safety standards, and even the weekend. Today, unions across the country are still on the frontlines advocating for basic workplace reforms like increases in the minimum wage and mandatory paid sick leave.
