The reason seems clear: Google #AI overviews are robbing the platform blind. “While extraordinarily useful and powerful, AI search solves a different problem than Reddit,” Reddit cofounder Steve Huffman told investors during the company’s quarterly earnings call this week. “AI does not fulfill people’s fundamental need for community, connection, and belonging with other people, and it lacks context and nuance.”

I made a new account on #Reddit just to answer a question from someone who was stuck on the current No Man's Sky expedition (I was stuck there too and know the solution to the problem). I won't be spending time on there anymore because all the reasons I left in the first place are still there, but it's worse than ever now. So much garbage. "Earn money on reddit," a billion ridiculous and childish "awards," and the vomit-worthy AI that pops up when you're searching for something. As I suspected when I left, them going IPO sent them straight to the toilet. They were already halfway there but they've hit the metaphorical goal like an asteroid crashing into the planet. Ew. #Enshittification #Internet
