Last December in Ayalon prison, “he was beaten on several occasions,” said Dotan, including an incident where guards swore at him while Barghouti was “dragged on the floor naked in front of other #prisoners”. .... “If this is how they allow themselves to treat high-profile prisoners like Barghouti, imagine what they do to detainees who don’t have the same profile,” she said, describing the overall level of abuse as “unprecedented”. ... The Israeli chapter of Physicians for #HumanRights detailed at least 10 deaths in detention since October, including five where their doctors attended the autopsies. ... “Sometimes the guards would throw tear gas inside the cells, or fire rubber bullets at close range. I saw people being dragged along the floor by their handcuffs and beaten.” ... “There are multiple reports of extreme torture and ill treatment. This is the Israeli #Guantánamo, with all of the issues connected to forced disappearances.” Israeli abuse of jailed #Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti ‘amounts to torture’ #IsraelWarCrimes #IsraelTerroristState #prisons #prisoners #gaza #genocide #gaza_under_attack #westbank

#warcrimes #IsraelWarCrimes #IsraelTerroristState #Gaza_Genocide #genocide #palestinewillbefree #palestine #HumanRights #prisons “The #prisoners are detained in a sort of cages, all blindfolded and handcuffed,” the source said. “If someone speaks or moves, they are immediately silenced or they are forced to stand with their hands raised above their head and handcuffed for up to one hour. “If they are unable to keep their hands raised, the soldiers attach the handcuffs to the bars of the cage. Many of the detainees had infected wounds that were not being properly treated.” He added: “The floor is very dirty, and it smells so bad that we were forced to wear face masks. You could hear sometimes the sound of beating and them screaming, and [a] banging sound like against the metal wall.” The whistleblower said prisoners were given one cucumber, a few slices of bread and a cup of cheese, and that some of them were visibly malnourished.

  1. Most of the 9,000 Palestinians in civil #prisons were deported to 'israel' where families are forbidden to visit.

"We’ve documented nineteen different incidents of torture and abuse […], all of which have led us to believe that we’re looking at a policy rather than just isolated incidents."

"The type of abuse, how random it is, how brutal it is—we see that as giving rise to a more vengeful sentiment allowing prison guards to lash out at prisoners more brutally and randomly than before."

Three more #Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip have been announced dead in Israeli detention, raising the death toll to 69 since October 2023, prisoner rights organizations said on Thursday. Their deaths were confirmed in responses sent by the Israeli military to Palestinian #humanrights organizations, which provided only the dates of death without further details regarding the circumstances of their deaths, WAFA reported. ...They stressed that the plight of Palestinian detainees from #Gaza has revealed “unprecedented levels of violence and atrocities,” including reports of torture, starvation, medical neglect, and sexual abuse. The organizations accused Israel of carrying out systematic “slow killing” practices in its detention facilities, citing the spread of disease, such as scabies, as a method of torture and neglect. They stated that medical negligence, #torture, and starvation are central causes behind the rising death toll. Holding Israel fully responsible for the deaths, the organizations renewed their call for an independent international investigation into the deaths of detainees and for the international community to take effective measures to hold Israeli leaders accountable. https://www.palestinechronicle.com/deadliest-chapter-three-more-gaza-detainees-die-in-israeli-detention/ @EndIsraeliApartheid@mastodon.social @palestine@a.gup.pe @israel@a.gup.pe#prisons #detainees

(continuation of macabre topic) One more Palestinian detainee dies in #Israeli custody A #Palestinian administrative detainee has died at Israel’s Soroka Hospital, according to the Palestinian authorities. Lo’ay Faisal Nasr-Allah, 22, died at the hospital where he was transfered to from from Negev Prison, Wafa news agency said in a report quoting the Civil Affairs Commission in the occupied territory. It added that the detainee was from the occupied #WestBank governorate of #Jenin, adding that he was held under administrative detention since March 26 last year. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2025/6/30/live-israel-bombards-eastern-gaza-city-after-ordering-people-to-flee?update=3809204 #Palestine #IsraelTerroristState #HumanRights #PalestinianPrisoners #prisons #AnotherIsraeliCrime@palestine@a.gup.pe @israel@a.gup.pe

Only one in four detainees from #Gaza are identified as fighters by Israel’s military intelligence, classified data indicates, with civilians making up the vast majority of #Palestinians held without charge or trial in abusive #prisons. Those jailed for long periods without charge or trial include medical workers, teachers, civil servants, #media workers, writers, sick and disabled people and children. ...Israel is also holding up to 300 Palestinians from Gaza suspected of taking part in the 7 October attacks. They are in criminal detention because Israel says it has sufficient evidence to prosecute them, although no trials have been held. ...Israel’s unlawful combatants legislation allows indefinite detention without producing evidence in open court. ....“We kept releasing people ‘for free’, and it made [soldiers] angry,” the source said. “[The soldiers] would say: ‘They’re not returning hostages, so why should we let them go?’” Israeli politicians have expressed similar sentiments. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/sep/04/israeli-military-database-indicates-only-a-quarter-of-gaza-detainees-are-fighters #IsraelDeathCamps #HumanRights #PalestinianPrisoners #IsraelTerroristState@palestine@a.gup.pe @israel@a.gup.pe

A record number of #Palestinian children are being held in administrative detention in Israeli #prisons without charge or trial, a report by a children’s rights organisation has revealed. “360 Palestinian children are detained in Israeli prisons as of June 30, the latest data available from the Israel Prison Service (IPS), which is the highest number since early 2016,” Defense for Children International – Palestine (DCI-P) reported this week. “147 children, or 41 percent of the total, are held in administrative detention without charge or trial, which is both the highest number and the highest proportion on record since Defense for Children International – Palestine began monitoring these numbers in 2008,” the report added. ....The continued detention and abuse of Palestinian children demand immediate international attention and intervention to uphold #humanrights and #justice. These numbers only tell part of the story, however, as countless abuses behind the scenes remain undocumented. There is no exact data on the number of children Israelis have abducted or “disappeared” without a trace from #Gaza since October 7. https://palestinewillbefree.substack.com/p/israel-record-number-palestinian-children-detained-without-trial-abuse?triedRedirect=true #IsraelDeathCamps #IsraelTerroristState #IsraelApartheid #PalestinianPrisoners #freepalestine #childrenatrisk@palestine@a.gup.pe @israel@a.gup.pe

Scabies is an itchy skin rash caused by a tiny burrowing mite called Sarcoptes scabiei. Intense itching occurs in the area where the mite burrows. The need to scratch may be stronger at night. Scabies is contagious and can spread quickly through close person-to-person contact in a family, child care group, school class, nursing home or prison. Prison authorities help scabies to spread by restricting inmates’ water supply and depriving them of clean clothes and medical care.
