A couple of hours at the allotment, watered stuff, plucked some weeds, dug the drain channel and while at it, spotted a frog! Also a new strawberries crop seems to be growing... And the grape isn't ready, perhaps in October. Left the track camera over a couple of days, at the allotment, had some 300 shots, most of them pointless, vegetation agitated by wind, but got a few bird shots including this crow taking off. #photography #crows #allotment #pond #enviroment #grape #frog #strawberries

I've just set up a new topping up system for my pond, to replace the previous gravity drip feed from my water butts. A 12 V peristaltic pump in a 3D printed mount is installed inside the garage, with 4 mm hoses from the water butts and to the pond. A time switch runs it for ½ an hour every 3 hours, to be adjusted as needed. #Garden #Pond

My wife wanted a frog in the garden - not sure what that says about me fairy-tale wise. Anyway, we dug a small pond, water plants and all and now after some time, lo and behold, we finally got a live froggo 😊 If anyone points out that frogs don‘t have fur and ears and this might not be frog after all, I will block them! #gardening #pond #frog #frogwithears #notashrew

No hose ban here... yet... been to the plot. 9 till 1130, watered the lot, plucked weeds, trimmed the olive and the Hazel bush, pulled up broadbeans and planted spuds. Spuds found dumped, a dozen of them, in the general compost heap, with rootlets so, yeah, why not. Testing a tarpaulin for leaks in view of using a tub as a pond, rather, pond already there but it dries out, ideally placing the tub in it so as to keep water during dry months. Will report. #allotment #gardening #potatoes #weeds #olive #broadbeans #pond

Saturday's are made for swanning about and I have to say, it was rather pleasant to have some respite from this spell of summer heat as cloud rolled in off the North Sea near where I live and brought temperatures down a degree or two. I do like the blue skies, sunshine and warmth that summer brings, but once the mercury starts climbing above 21°C, I definitely begin to wilt! Still warm today, but without the merciless sun beating down, quite enjoyable swanning about around Rainton Meadows nature reserve at Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland in NE England. #sunderland #durhamwildlifetrust #countryside #summer #july #landscape #pond #photography
