"Everything we love is on the line" in the US #election: #Trump🚨has systematically undone the strategy: since the 19C has made the US➡️world's leading C. He's eroded our sources of greatness. So what's at stake isn't just #affordability or #DataCenters or the #IranWar.🚨It's America's future. Trump +acquiescence of cong Rs,💔is vandalizing ED, from Head Start for 4-yr-olds living in poverty to elite univs researching new Txs for cancer." #ExistentialThreat‼️ #Health #USPol

RE: https://flipboard.com/@salon/news-politics-vjnjnsc9z/-/a-bBrlkwNDR2WE2YNHFpc2Zw%3Aa%3A3199680-%2F0 No lies spoken. Biden left office with a national average of $3.01 per gallon, it is now an average of $4.26 with some states topping $5 per gallon. #uspolitics #uspol #Affordability #IranWar #economy

Reading this article, where it indicated 15% dissatisfaction with the current governor, I'm a little concerned. Colorado is currently a Democrat haven. I fear the dissatisfaction could shift us away. I do know our state struggles between urban and rural viewpoints. https://coloradosun.com/2026/07/17/colorado-affordability-elected-leaders-pulse-poll-2026/ #Colorado #Affordability

OK, this is wild. Dude who once competed professionally in poker owns 28 apartment complexes, takes out a loan with a 7000% daily compounding interest... From an international arms dealer who was played in War Dogs by Jonah Hill... Either way this negatively impacts slightly over 9900 #Oklahoma households across every major metro area in central and eastern Oklahoma. https://nondoc.com/2026/07/14/as-vesta-empire-collapses-former-arms-dealer-efraim-diveroli-takes-over-26-oklahoma-apartments/ #Apartments #Housing #Affordability #ArmsDealer

@thetyee@mstdn.ca explains another bailout for the wealthy: yesterday’s speculators now see their positions secured, paid for, in effect, by the public And if we wanted affordable housing, maybe we'd keep a requirement for it? Burnaby and Vancouver are removing another powerful lever for maintaining affordability by removing inclusionary zoning, which requires some percentage of below market units within projects. Imperfect as it’s been, this was one of the few mechanisms that required new market projects to deliver a share of somewhat more affordable units. It takes an implausible neoliberal contortion to say that removing the requirement to build affordable housing will lead to housing that's affordable. If the past is any guide, ... land prices rise to neutralize the supposed cost savings. New units will remain expensive and the gap between housing costs and local incomes widens. Developers will still make their margins. Land speculators will collect their unearned gains. Ordinary households see little relief. https://thetyee.ca/Opinion/2026/07/09/No-One-Discussing-This-Bigger-Condo-Bailout/?utm_source=mastodon&utm_campaign=grassroots #CDNPoli #Canada #housing #affordability

#Trump and his #Republican enablers couldn’t get rid of the very popular #ObamaCare health insurance subsidies that at least made access to #HealthCare affordable. So they’ve made it unaffordable for most with recent rate hikes - and more on the way. The #TrumpRegime is killing the middle class with a thousand cuts. They’ve cut #SNAP, made #Medicaid more restrictive; they’ve cut grants essential to maintaining the #SafetyNet and prices for virtually everything have gone up under this administration. The #Affordability crisis promises to trash whatever is left of the #AmericanDream. The ONLY way we can stop this cruel and vindictive madness is to vote all the bastards out. If you value your rights, your health, your children and your future PLEASE VOTE!! #USPol #USPolitics

#US #economy added just 57,000 #jobs in June — far below expectations — amid elevated #inflation, global turmoil US employers pulled back on hiring last month & added only 57,000 jobs, less than half the previous month’s total & a sign companies still have a cautious economic outlook. #labor #CostOfLiving #affordability #trumpcession #recession #trump

The #Labor Dept said Thurs that the #unemployment rate declined to 4.2% from 4.3% in May, though the decline mostly occurred because many people out of work gave up looking & were no longer counted as unemployed. The figures suggest companies remain wary of the #economy’s health, with #inflation at a 3-year high & consumer confidence near post-pandemic lows. The #jobs gains initially reported in April & May were also revised lower. #CostOfLiving #affordability #trumpcession #recession #trump
