PIC OF MY (EARLY) #NYC VOTING STICKER do y’all know my building’s basement is the actual election day polling place for our precinct? one year, i rolled out of bed in my pajamas to vote for Bill de Blasio. yet today i walked 3 ghastly short blocks to the public housing next door, so i could vote early with my chosen sister. it was our excuse to have brunch. VOTED NO ON INITIATIVE #3. it screams PORK to the real estate mafia. dont see what selling of public land got to do with new bike lanes.

2GoodThingsandwaitingto make it #3goodthings

  1. The potty training of our foster doggy, Maple, hit a number 1 and 2 milestone this morning. And she learned how to sit by watching her big brother, Scout, who is actually smaller. She’s a genius. They both are. #DogsOfMastodon!

  2. The Coen brothers have a new#movie coming out! https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/movies/articles/coen-brothers-josh-o-connor-195039878.html

  3. You all know what #3 is. Let’s manifest it after we’ve all voted! #Election.

#3 High conflict cases 10-20% These are cases where there is no clear harms. There are no obvious differences in parenting quality under the law and both parents want to be involved parents. Bc if they didn't want to be involved... they'd just not show up and loose their rights eventually. So imo, "high conflict" custody cases only happen with BOTH parents care. Now judges however treat high conflict cases differently based on ONE thing....

React works by maintaining a virtual representation of the DOM. When you dispatch state changes into the virtual DOM react can determine which components depend on the change and which side useEffects run. My gripe is that YouTube tutorials teach that the useState is the equivalent of a variable. This encourages average developers to problem solve solutions that end up using React’s Virtual DOM for business logic. The YouTube tutorials have react devs planting 100s of useStates - some of which don’t directly induce a visible-on-screen rerender - and then ⅒ as many useEffects to bind these states together. This means that for the Virtual DOM to come to the conclusion as to what html elements need to be changed and how it has already mutated 20-50-100s of times and the CTO tells me the react app is slow and they’re mad. If 2 states have the opportunity to mutate each other back and forth then the truth is that you have 2 perspectives of the same state. And React gives you solutions for that - proper solutions - the useReducer hook is for defining these complex state mutations and the Context API for communicating that state to any component. And this has me quintuple pissed off because these same tutorial grade react devs install REDUX as compulsively as a pack-a-day smoker (that’s #3). They use Redux to file variables in JavaScript memory (that’s #4) like it’s a global variable and rarely if ever use it for the complex state mutations they need instead I’ve seen react devs write components pull state out of redux into a component just so it can mount useEffect and process the state and dispatch the result back into redux. Let’s not even bring up how the react-redux binding library literally uses the React Context API (that’s #5).

Panel #3 reminds me of an important historical fact. Susan B. Anthony died in 1906, and the 19th Amendment was ratified in 1920. The most well-known suffragette, who worked for equality and civil rights her entire life, did not live to see her life’s work realized. Progress can be slow, but don’t let that discourage you. We work to better the world for future generations, not just for ourselves.

My new mini fridge's lock instructions are helpful Alt text (tl:dr, skip to #3) Children often open the door of the beverage cooler, which may affect the beverage’s flavour. To avoid this situation, a hidden door lock with a key is recommended. It will also prevent accidents caused by the children’s mischief If you put the refrigerator outdoors, it is advisable to prevent drinks from being taken without permission. This lock, at a certain level, can control the habit of gluttony that leads to obesity. When you have to take a drink, the lock gives a warning about the effective security protection. This warning will prevent you from overdosing and causing harm to your body, which can result in obesity.

#3goodthings #goodinquotes

  1. I'm going to have to call some people tomorrow about my water incursions. Because rain happened.

  2. My friends are coming to visit from out of town tomorrow and I don't know exactly when, but one has already picked activities out that I'm not excited to do, and I don't know whether #3 is getting picked up to be part of this.

  3. My dad's complaining about stuff and I need to go see him at some point either before or after my friends' visit.

I do recall that my coworker’s son got himself wedged between the stove and fridge, so #3 is plausible for Human-Jennifer.

furthering my previous guessing that there’s likely only appetite for 2, maybe 3, of these ridiculous IPOs, a number of analyst notes have started kicking around and they’re getting progressively more realistic in their outlook. saw this one this morning

Red Flag #3: The IPO is Exit Liquidity, Not Growth Capital

To justify a $2 trillion valuation, our model shows that Anthropic would have to: • immediately improve NOPAT margin to 10% and sustain it for the next 10 years (compared to -175% reported operating margin in 2025), • grow revenue by 1000% in 2026 and 100% in 2027, and • grow revenue 56% compounded annually from 2028-2035.

sounds ambitious. sure hope they don’t have any material risks and systematic exposures that make that harder!

In this scenario, Anthropic’s

  1. revenue would reach $3.6 trillion (compared to $4.6 billion in 2025), which is 1.4x the combined TTM revenue of Microsoft (MSFT), Apple (AAPL), Alphabet (GOOGL), Amazon (AMZN), NVIDIA (NVDA), Meta (META), and Oracle (ORCL).
  2. NOPAT would reach $358 billion in 2035, compared to the company’s -$8 billion reported operating loss in 2025. For reference, $358 billion is 2.0x NVIDIA’s $184 billion and 2.6x Apple’s $136 billion in TTM NOPAT.

good thing the cost of inference is going down! sure, qwen3.8-27b is already stale and everyone needs to throw another couple hundred million at another training update, but the cost of inference! /s

This leads people to treat it as multiplication "M", but it's expanding brackets, "B", so must be done first! See meme. Lastly (for this week) note in our previous screenshot "number or a letter". By "letter" they mean pronumeral. "pro" means "substituted for" so it's literally a symbol (letter in this case) substituted for a numeral. What I'm getting at is THEY ARE THE SAME THING. Mistake #3 "that rule only applies to letters". No, it applies to letters AND numbers. Continued next week...

@freddie_the_fed@poa.st Sena from Xenoblade 3 is a much more legitimate borderline case, she's noticeably darker than the two other female party members, but still pretty light-skinned, and given her image as a sporty fitness-maniac I always thought it obvious that she was tan rather than a #3.
