Some more photos from our recent trip to Krnica Dive in Krnica, Croatia. One of the highlights was diving the MS Argo, a former Isle-class trawler that sank in 1948 after striking a mine. The wreck split into two sections and now rests peacefully on the seabed, creating an incredible artificial reef. The wreck stood out of this fog...truly impressive! In between the two parts of the wrecks lives the king of all lobsters. Unfortunately this time I couldn't find his house 😪! Kind of a niche post, but if any #scuba divers are looking into diving Kaua'i, the famous Tunnels dive is now off-limits to commerical operations. This is a fairly recent change inside Haena State Park; no more permits for any commercial activity. Divers can still dive there but tours and paid guides are not allowed. A local guide just confirmed this to me. I would NOT recommend swimming or diving into the maze of lava tubes without an experienced guide. It's...a complicated system of interconnected tubes, dammit. #scuba #Hawaii #Kauai #diving

I returned last night from a wonderful trip to the British Virgin Islands. Spent a week on a sailboat, sailing to four islands, and snorkeling and scuba diving off of two of them. Two of the islands that I sailed to had small rock islands near them. Once the sailboat was tied up at each main island, I then took the dinghy to the nearby rock island to scuba dive. Here are some of my views when I went scuba diving around the other rock island on my trip last week. This area had a different underwater landscape than the one shown in my earlier post; the seafloor was much more gently sloping. Something’s fishy here! On one of my dives off of the sailboat, I discovered a barracuda and remora (suckerfish) lurking under the boat, each 3-4 feet (1 m) in length. They remained there in spite of my presence and occasionally cruised close to me. For a while, the remora attached itself to the keel of one of the hulls of the boat (upper right pic)! I had more fun near the surface watching these fish than being at the bottom that day! #ocean #scuba #nature#photography #NaturePhotography
