For the last decade, the #EU has been funding #Mastodon #KDE #Phosh #Nextcloud #OnlyOffice #PixelFed, #Libreoffice, #CryptPad, #Kdenlive, #Lemmy and many other Open Source projects you know and love through its #NextGenerationInternet programme. But now that programme is ending and they are thinking about its successor. They want to hear from you on what it should look like: Share your feedback to make sure the Commission keep funding amazing Open Source projects! [JM]

Per accident today I found out about WOPI (Web Application Open Platform Interface). And why online document collaboration (Collabora / LibreOffice or OnlyOffice / also MS Office Web) is such a heavy piece of software. Even for today's standards. It's all about locking document and ensuring statefulness. For a sheet or for a document. So I setup my old Filerun server (Filerun is a nifty NextCloud alternative for small-scale adoption) and added my OnlyOffice (Docker) instance. WOPI didn't play nice. I always thought setting up "just office" was a 5 minute job. Turns out you need to get serious. Anyway, so I am running PHP software in 2026. And it works fine. And I use WOPI. #filerun #onlyoffice #wopi #php

#ONLYOFFICE for developers: Mastering integration tools [Webinar] Join your webinar today and explore how to use #ONLYOFFICE tools for custom development and seamless integrations:

#OnlyOffice #LibreOffice #OOXML #ODF

FSF says OnlyOffice cannot use AGPLv3 to add extra fork restrictions, including mandatory branding retention in Euro-Office dispute. ⚖️ It argues AGPL guarantees downstream freedom, so forked versions may remove logos or attribution constraints beyond license terms. 🔓 @fsfe@mastodon.social@fsf@hostux.social@ONLYOFFICE@fosstodon.org 🔗 https://linuxiac.com/fsf-says-onlyoffice-cannot-use-agpl-to-restrict-forks/ #TechNews #FSF #FSFE #OnlyOffice #AGPLv3 #OpenSource #FOSS #Licensing #EU #Europe #EuroOffice #SoftwareFreedom #Forks #Copyleft #Legal #Linux #Transparency #DigitalRights
