Hi, Fediverse. We're Charter Oak Watch, an independent desk following surveillance in Connecticut, from the records: license-plate readers (Flock, Axon), real-time crime centers, drones, fusion centers, and who decided. Every claim links to its receipts: FOIA releases, audit logs, meeting transcripts, contracts. Not affiliated with any government agency. Well, I am just shocked. Shocked, I tell you! Who could have imagined that the company that doesn't do consent in public doesn't do consent in private either? Wyoming is one of three states in the US where Trump still has net approval among all adults surveyed. (YouGov) It's nearly all white and its population is much older and more rural than the rest of the US. And even there people hate the surveillance state. As we have seen from early 2025 with Mike Lee trying to sell off our national parks, all this bullcrap stops when enough MAGAs and independents get on board. https://wyofile.com/wyoming-lawmakers-could-pursue-some-of-the-nations-strictest-limits-on-flock-like-cameras/ #Flock #ALPR #Wyoming #MAGA

3 for 1 in Georgia... 😬 (9/1/26) "... HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Three deputies with the Hall County Sheriff's Office have resigned as the agency continues to audit its Flock safety system. According to authorities, all three deputies, Jason Orellana, Taylor McArthur, and Austin Scott Flanagan, who was recently arrested and placed on leave for making harassing phone calls, resigned while under active investigation. ..." https://www.11alive.com/article/news/local/three-hall-county-deputies-resign-audit-flock-camera-system/85-141414bc-1698-4136-bc45-c13c966a42ec #flock #alpr

👀 "...Hackers ripped down a Flock camera above a roadway, made a near-complete copy of the data stored inside it, and shared the files with 404 Media and WIRED, revealing in new detail how exactly Flock Safety’s cameras track the movements of both vehicles and people. The hackers say they are also publishing details on how they managed to obtain the software, in the hopes that other people may copy them. The breach provides an unprecedented look inside a system that Flock has described as protected by on-device encryption. The hackers were able to copy the camera’s storage and recover an encryption key stored on the device, which unlocked videos of thousands of vehicle detections..." https://www.404media.co/hackers-stole-flocks-camera-software-revealing-how-the-company-tracks-cars-and-people-2/ #alpr #flock #privacy

🤔 Flock worker calls police on InvestigateTV reporter filming public camera installation YouTubers also faced employee 911 call outside Flock facili "...The officer said the installer was also concerned about privacy. “And his worry more than anything is that, you know, he’s just an employee. Anybody like you and me. And now he’s going to be in the news and he doesn’t know if it’s going to be targeted at him or his family.” Keefe asked if the officer was suggesting the installer was entitled to privacy while working in public. “So just to be clear, he’s entitled to his privacy in a public place?” Keefe asked. “Isn’t that the whole argument that people are criticizing Flock for?” " https://www.investigatetv.com/2026/09/08/flock-worker-calls-police-investigatetv-reporter-filming-public-camera-installation/ #flock #alpr #privacy

Walmart Is Scanning Your Face, License Plate, and Data. Here’s How They Are Rolling Back Privacy, Not Prices Walmart’s privacy policy authorizes collecting face geometry, iris scans, palm prints, and license plate data. Walmart says biometric data will be permanently destroyed when its purpose is fulfilled, within three years of your last interaction, or as the law requires — whichever comes first. #walmart #facialrecognition #biometrics #surveillance #privacy #alpr

Flock is dangerous and sells tools for other people make themselves dangerous, according to Flock itself. “…whatever the case is, I wanna make sure I have as many tools to make myself dangerous if and when I need it.” And they train police to surveil peaceful protests. This couldn’t possibly lead to increased violence from police to the populace. https://youtube.com/shorts/V4MA3skSfXs #USpol #flock #alpr #surveillance #CivilRights #HumanRights #FirstAmendment #privacy

#Flock and other #ALPR cameras are so unpopular that Republicans in the House are having to do something to pretend to respond to it. This bill would only ban the use of ALPRs with federal funds. Most of the cameras are paid for by cities. Bernie Sanders wants to ban all ALPR use, which of course is what we need. But it shows you that Republicans think we're going to have elections. They are scared. They should be. https://www.vitallaw.com/news/flock-off-act-introduced-in-house-to-ban-funding-for-vehicle-surveillance-cameras/cspd0174699e3f7df344e782e150da16b7ac16#Republicans #GOP

#Florida Department of Transportation just revoked all permits for ALPRs and started removing all #Flock cameras from its highways. Florida elections have been so rigged for so long that DeathSantis has been able to act with complete impunity, but clearly he and his cronies are getting scared. They haven't turned over a new leaf. Nazis don't. They're SCARED. And some Democrats would rather tear into each other than celebrate that and keep the pressure up. https://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/2026/09/01/flock-cameras-florida-off-map-where-desantis/91558401007/ #ALPR
