For those who are curious, streaming things like #monsterdon into #VRChat works from all of the following:

• archive.org
• an S3 service (I used backblaze b2)
• Peertube

I'm using the Video Download Helper browser extension to make it easy to get the url of the actual video not the page, and then using bit.ly to make a short url I can actually type on the virtual keyboard.

As long as the video's in a supported format you should be good.

Movie Hoarding People I keep thinking about watching #Monsterdon movies in #VRChat BUT in order to do that I need to an URL that one of the in-game players could stream from. Video urls from places like Tubi and YouTube don't work. So, i think it needs to be somewhere I could upload a copy of the movie to. How would you suggest? Trying to avoid solutions like plex (see pt 2 for why) 🧵1/2

🤔 You know what would be cool? People getting together in #VRChat to watch #Monsterdon movies together. We should totally make that a thing. Better yet, if there are any world builders out there. A world with a big-ol screen and a toggleable streaming feed of the monsterdon tag off to the side. Maybe with Giant cheezy Kaiju peeking out over distant forests and mountains. 😜 Damn it. Now I really want this.
