#threeGoodThings 1) made it safely home from San Diego yesterday, and the weather was ok on Oʻahu. #Nolo did not really hit us. Not as sure about Maui and Moku o Keawe. 2) I had a great vacation in #SanDiego, but am also glad to be back. 3) I’m excited my glasses prescription came in. I hope I like them. I don’t wear glasses regularly, but need them at times for things far away. I learned that Eye glasses/spectacles in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi is: ka makaaniani.

#NOLO #HIwx From County of Hawai’i: The County of Hawai‘i will resume normal operations on Sunday, Sept. 27 as Hurricane Nolo continues its westward movement away from Hawai’i Island. All solid waste facilities, including transfer stations, are scheduled to resume their normal operations, and all County parks, including the Hilo Municipal Golf Course and Panaʻewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens, are scheduled to reopen. Hele-On bus service is scheduled to resume for Routes 11, 40, 101, 201, 202, 204, and 401. Route 90 is scheduled to run at 5:40 a.m. from Pāhala and 2:45 p.m. from Kona. Thankful for the weather magics that caused #nolo to stall for many hours before heading west without getting closer to the Big Island. Still quite a bit of wind and rain but it could be so much worse. In our little valley on Oahu, the sustained winds are 31 mph with surprise gusts for fun. I’m sure our neighbors are amused by the small dog and small-ish human trying to stay upright on trips outside. Here is a video of Mochi getting her safe space ready for bed the other night.
