I wasn't planning on having a DECT phone for #emfcamp because it seems illogical when I can use my mobile WiFi calling. What am I missing out on if I don't get one? Conscious of buying yet more electronic waste that will sit unused afterwards. But also want to be part of the fun! Sell it to me? Or, not?

@russss@chaos.social how did you end up doing #CO2 monitoring at #emfcamp? Between #fosdem and #eventinfra we are close to spending 10k€ on #airgradient because they do most things right, and we were not able to get our own hardware spun up. Intention is for everything to go into the eventinfra loan pool so ALL the conferences can monitor their environments. Before we make that step, we wanted to check if it makes sense to collaborate on fully open hardware, firmware, and software stack instead.

We’ve had a get together, looked at your feedback, and worked out what went well and what we’d like to improve on.. and come to the conclusion that we need more than six people on info to take the next steps.

We are particularly looking for:

• schedule displayers and printers (press button get schedule -thermal print?)
• meet and greeters from villages for newbies, like freshers fair
• Sneakernet (the post), Moist Von Lipwigs this is your calling

Commitment can be very much physical capacity and spoon-dependent so set your boundaries early and take care of yourself please!

Just released Reverie, a browser-based chiptune tracker: https://github.com/reverietracker/reverie/ https://reverietracker.github.io/ It recently made its first public appearance at the #emfcamp Variety Night, where I demonstrated writing a Spectrum chiptune cover of Call Me Maybe in 10 minutes, and now it's time to unleash it on the world. Currently it's a clone of ZX Soundtracker (with the one enhancement of supporting dual AY chip Turbosound music) - hopefully it will become a lot more than that. Including absorbing the somewhat-related work I've been doing for the TIC-80... (Full disclosure, as I realise it's a showstopper for some: some use of Claude here, mostly for debugging and Node package wrangling rather than actual coding.)

Not sure if any of our folks who went to #EMFCamp took #DECT phones along or not. Will ask and let you know...
