  1. #CountBinface has already declared (as of 15:19 BST today) as a unity candidate.

The only people left to state a position, as I write this, are the Greens and any other potential unity candidate such as #CarolVorderman.

It's daft to split a 'unity' vote.

Yes, the Count is satirical, whereas Vorderman would be serious. But that brings me on to point 2.

If you've only been giving this peripheral attention, note that the CUP, the LCP, and RestoreBritainLtd have all said that they won't field a candidate, whereas at 15:19 BST today @CountBinface@mastodon.world announced in Another Place: > Labour, Tories, Lib Dems and Greens: I demand you stand down in Clacton. I will be a unity candidate and pledge to build at least one affordable house. > > Nigel Farage says he wants The People versus the Establishment. So be it. > > Leave him to me. #NigelF

  1. #CountBinface would be a far less depressing loss than #CarolVorderman would be if #NigelFarage won.

There's a significant chance that Farage will win, given #ClactonOnSea's past record. Beating Vorderman, whom they hate, would be a feather in #ReformUKLtd's cap.

But they couldn't crow about sticking it to 'the establishment' when they only beat a comedian in a bin; who, moreover, has 9 years of practice turning election losses into pointed sound bites. c.f. Makerfield!

  1. #CountBinface running would spur the political commentators into remembering when #NigelFarage ran against John Bercow over another little matter of houses, and faced John Stevens's dolphin named Flipper.

It's Silly Season, remember.

#CarolVorderman & the others need only to step back and let the journalists, desperate for stories, gorge themselves on Farage versus Binface; which will just make Farage look even worse, especially if xe gets cross on camera again.

Deadline to file as a candidate for Clacton passed, and full list of candidates announced. I heard a rumour that Farage failed to file in time, but that seems not to be true. Twenty independents, Three candidates from the Monster Raving Loony party, a bunch of small parties, and the two fore-runners: Nigel Farage and Count Binface Thirty Four candidates at an election is a British record. One clear unity candidate. Every vote for the Count counts! https://www.tendringdc.gov.uk/news/clacton-voters-to-choose-next-mp-as-by-election-candidates-confirmed #clacton #countBinface #farage

Fellow denizens of the United Kingdoms, I will be in Clacton for results night on 13 Aug. If Binface gets in, I want to be able to say I was there. This sounds like the kind of pointless trip some of y'all would be well into, so let's connect! Please boost this for visibility, and why not join us witness a key moment of postmodern British politics where a cartoonishly ridiculous gets elected MP. If he can beat Binface, that is #UKPol #Clacton #Binface4Clacton #CountBinface

@NEBylines@mastodon.social #CountBinface for the win. It will make the biggest fool of #Farage imaginable. In actual fact, the Count’s policies are more attainable and make far more sense than anything Farage has said or done since being elected MP. Meanwhile the police, revenue and fraud investigations into Nigel’s money continues…… even if the parliamentary one is paused.
