World's highest-consuming 10% cause up to $5.7 trillion a year in environmental damage, study finds

The environmental damage caused by the world's highest-consuming 10% of people is worth $1.7 trillion to $5.7 trillion a year. The stark figure forms the centerpiece of an environmental assessment released by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) at the University of York.
